My friend's dad suffered brain damage a while ago, and we saw his wife today who said he is slowly getting better, but it's been rough and he'll never be the same as he used to be.  She asked for prayers for their family.  The circumstances under which we saw here were kind of unusual though; I was supposed to have blood work done yesterday (everything's fine, they just want to check some stuff), but they were closed yesterday due to a holiday party.  So, to my mother's dismay, we had to go back today, which is when we saw my friend's mom.  God's timing is just so perfect that it really blows me away; we probably wouldn't have seen her yesterday if the lab would've been open, and if we would have gotten there at a different time, even within a matter of minutes, we would have missed her.  It's so cool how things like that work out.
One more thing...have a blessed New Year!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and is enjoying their break.
I just have 2 things that I was really hoping you guys could pray for.
First, my dad has been having health problems. My parents are divorced so I don't know him all that well and I really don't know what's wrong other than he can't really eat and he put himself on the liver transplant list at a local hospital. He doesn't know the Lord and that's my biggest concern in all of it. I've always had a lot of trouble with witnessing to my family and I very rarely talk to or see my dad, so it would be awesome to have some extra prayers for his health and for my witness to my family, especially my dad.
The second thing is my step sister got into a car accident today. She is only hurt a little bit and thankfully her son wasn't in the car when it happened, but the car is smashed and she didn't have insurance, so that has caused just a bunch of other issues.
Thanks for your prayers and enjoy the rest of your break. I can't wait to catch up with everyone when we get back.

We found out today that my grandfather is back in the hospital.  He hasn't really been eating much lately, and his food needs to be pureed at the moment, which doesn't make him any happier.  Prayers that he is healed and has a better attitude towards all of this.

house fire

This morning at church I found out that the house of one of the families was on fire this morning.  We drove by this afternoon and it did not look good at all.  So prayers for their family, especially during this time of year.  It made me really appreciate what I have, and also how important it is for us to reach out to others.

So I am from Erie, Pennsylvania aka part of the Great Lake Snowbelt. According to my mom, the weatherman says that we are supposed to get ONE INCH OF SNOW PER HOUR UNTIL TUESDAY! Clearly, that is a lot of snow and prayers are needed for safe travel, for those without heat, for those who can't afford snow tires, that the electricity and plumbing will still work, and for those who are without a home during this really harsh time.

Also, a boy who was in my church youth group and now a freshman in college has been diagnosed with Chron's disease. He had to drop out of school and has been in the hospital for the last couple of weeks. He can hardly eat and is in pain all the time. Prayers are needed for him and his family!

some prayers

I have some prayers:

1. On Sunday, the father of a good family friend died. Prayers for the family are definitely needed.
2. The grandfather of one a guy in one of my classes is dying and he can't go home to see him before he dies.
3. Praise for tonight's Evensong. I think it was really fresh!
4. Prayers for everyone as we wind down this semester.
This past week my friend from home, Kristin, suffered a concussion while playing soccer.  She's in high school and going to classes, which is hard for her, so just prayers that she heals quickly.

this week

So this week is going to be really difficult and stressful for many of us and I just pray that we all remember God is our number one priority and that we take the time to relax and talk to Him, depsite how many tests and projects we may be confronting.
Also, remember all of our veterans today, especially Willard! My grandfather and several Uncles are veterans and my father is currently in the navy, potentially going overseas soon, so please keep all veterans and military service persons in your prayers!

This summer, the pastor at my church at home left, and since then they have been having speakers and supply pastors.  The church really started dwindling in attendance, and right now they do not have the money to support a full-time pastor.  I pray that God brings the right person to lead them quickly, and that the people of the church focus their energy more on serving Him than focusing on the money involved.

It's so amazing to see what God has been doing on campus and being a part of it is so great.
I hope everybody is having or had a safe Halloween.

A new approach

Hello everyone,

Community is what we are striving for this year, and this blog is just a stepping stone in the path we hope to lead. God has a plan for us all, but within that plan is to pray for others seeking his guidance or finding their way through pleasant, uncertain or even trying times. As we start up this blog, I want everyone to know that I am ready to pray for each and every one of you because you are all a part of my Christian family and I want you to feel comfortable sharing your journey in Christ with all those in our community.
Speak your mind and express your concerns; this is a place to pray and a place to feel connected to those in our Protestant Community. Feel free to post anything you would like and know that all those reading this blog will pray for you in whatever times you may be facing.
I want to share with you all a few verses that relate to how God is praying for you all the time and you just have to trust that He loves you with all His heart, as you should love Him with all of yours.
Therefore He (Jesus) is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them. (Heb 7.25)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Prov 3.5-6)
